The True Detective: Night Country release date has been set for the upcoming HBO series in a new teaser trailer for the show.
True Detective: Night Country is set to debut on HBO on Sunday, January 14 from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET/PM. It will then become available for streaming on Max.
“When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace,” the official synopsis reads. “To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”

True Detective: Night Country stars Jodie Foster and Kali Reis as Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro, respectively. Additional cast members include Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Isabella Star Lablanc, Aka Niviâna, Anna Lambe, Joel D. Montgrand, Christopher Eccleston, and John Hawkes. Issa López serves as showrunner, writer and director.
Created by Nic Pizzolatto, True Detective originally premiered on HBO in 2014. The first season starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams led the charge in Season 2, with Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo taking over for Season 3.
