Sony Pictures has dropped the official red band trailer for its newest crime comedy titled Down Low, starring Emmy nominee Zachary Quinto and The White Lotus’ Lukas Gage. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival and is currently slated to arrive on digital on October 10.
The video introduces Quinto’s Gary, a recently out gay divorcé who suddenly finds himself in a crazy situation where he has to hide a dead body after his first venture into dating apps goes wrong. Helping him live the life he always wanted is a free-spirited sex worker.

“Repressed divorcé, Gary hires Cameron, a spirited and boundary-free sex worker to give him an erotic massage,” reads the synopsis. “When Cameron learns how inexperienced middle-aged Gary is, he becomes determined to deliver a crash course in unapologetic queer life. Cameron’s agenda of hookup apps and gay nomenclature quickly causes the day to take several riotously obscure turns as the pair endure a nosy, pill-popping neighbor, a dark web intruder, and more in a hilarious evening of consequences and confrontation.”
Described as an outrageous comedy about one wild night and hysterical outcomes, Down Low is directed by Rightor Doyle from a screenplay written by Gage and Phoebe Fisher. Joining Quinto and Gage are Simon Rex, Judith Light, Audra McDonald, Sebastian Arroyo, and Christopher Reed Brown. It is produced by Ashley Fox, Lucas Wiesendanger, Ross Katz.
