Ari Aster’s Midsommar, Robert Eggers’ The Witch, and more A24 horror movies are returning to AMC Theatres this October.
Per IndieWire, A24 and AMC Theatres are collaborating on a new film series, A24 Presents: October Thrills & Chills Film Series. Participating AMC locations will see a hit A24 horror flick be rereleased in theaters every Wednesday in October in the lead-up to Halloween.
Coming first on October 4 is Robert Eggers’ The Witch, which was originally released in 2015. Following on October 11 is 2022’s X from director Ti West, which spawned a prequel, Pearl, that was released in 2022 and a forthcoming sequel, MaXXXine.
The Scarlett Johansson-led Under the Skin returns to theaters on October 18 before Ari Aster‘s 171-minute long director’s cut of Midsommar closes out the series on October 25.
Tickets are available now on AMC’s website, which can be viewed by clicking here. AAA24 members are able to see one film of their choice in the series for free.
In addition to the upcoming rereleases, A24 has a number of new films still set to release in 2023. While Thomas Hardiman’s Medusa Deluxe and Danny and Michael Philippou’s Talk to Me are currently playing in select theaters, the production company will soon release Dicks: The Musical on October 6, 2023.
Following that, Sofia Copolla’s Priscilla arrives on November 3, 2023, alongside Raven Jackson’s All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt.
The Nicolas Cage-starring Dream Scenario is also coming to theaters in December, as is The Zone of Interest, which comes from Under the Skin director Jonathan Glazer, and Sean Durkin’s The Iron Claw.
Looking further into the future, MaXXXine currently has no release date; however, filming was completed in May 2023, meaning it’s likely eyeing a 2024 release. A sequel to Talk to Me is also currently in development, with Danny and Michael Philippou both returning to direct.
