Former Chelsea star, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed that creativity is currently missing in Mauricio Pochettino’s side due to the absence of injured players Christopher Nkunku and Carney Chukwuemeka.
Hasselbaink also criticized Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson’s reluctance to take a crucial penalty during the Blues’ Premier League 3-1 defeat to West Ham a few days ago.
Recall that Nkunku is currently recovering from an injury he sustained prior to the start of the new season, while Chukwuemeka sustained a knee injury during Chelsea’s defeat to West Ham.
“Nkunku being out [means] there is a lot of creativity missing for the strikers,” Hasselbaink told talkSPORT.
“Also now Chukwuemeka being out [means] there is a lot of creativity [missing and] hopefully his injury is not that bad.
“I would have loved to have seen Jackson take the penalty [against West Ham] to be honest because if he scores, that would give him a little bit of confidence and he would be off the mark.”
