Pep Guardiola, Simone Inzaghi and Luciano Spalletti have made the final shortlist for the UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year award.
An initial list of candidates was put together by a UEFA study group and was then put to every manager of a club who took part in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League as well as national team managers of UEFA’s member countries. Managers were not allowed to vote for themselves.
A select group of journalists were also invited to vote.
Guardiola is the early favourite for the prize after leading Manchester City to glory in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, beating Inzaghi’s Inter to get his hands on the latter.
Finishing off the shortlist is Spalletti, whose Napoli side took Serie A by storm last season. The Italian lifted the trophy and then resigned from his post to spend more time with his family.
