“I did it for love” – Lagos socialite who almost ended it all on third mainland bridge, Farida Sobowale, breaks silence (video)

Popular Lagos socialite, Farida Sobowale of House of Phreeda, has spoken out for the first time following her rescue from a suicide attempt on the Third Mainland Bridge.
It was earlier reported that the mother of three was rescued on Thursday evening, August 17, after attempting to end it all.
She went to the bridge in her Lexus SUV, came down, and was on the verge of jumping into the lagoon when she was saved by passersby. ICYMI, read here

In a new update, the businesswoman has revealed in a video making rounds online that she tried to commit suicide out of love for her ex-husband.
It was gathered that she held a high profile wedding with her partner, Damola, which featured a performance by Fuji Maestro K1 De Ultimate, in June 2023.
Unfortunately, barely two months after their wedding which allegedly cost N100 million, Damola dumped her for his side-chick, one Yemisi Fasawe.

He also allegedly rained insults on her, stating that she looks like an old woman and he couldn’t satisfy her in bed.
Following her recent suicide attempt, Farida released a video admitting that she did it due to her deep love for her ex-husband.
She said she felt betrayed and deceived after their lavish wedding, and pleaded for the forgiveness of her fans and followers. She further stated that she has moved on and has left the situation to God.
