Ayanna Chapman was born to her parents, Lydia Chapman and Eddie Chapman, on February 22, 1999, in Camden, New Jersey. She has three siblings: Kewanee, Alycia, and Kayla. She attended Salem High School in Salem, New Jersey, where she played in the high school’s field hockey team as a Back/Midfielder.
She played under head coach Donna O’Leary and contributed significantly to the team’s success. In her senior year, the team achieved an impressive 12-2 record, remaining undefeated with a 10-0 score in conference competition. Their exemplary performance earned them the Tri-County Conference title. She also participated in basketball and track during her time at Salem High School.
Ayanna was good in sports as she was good in her academics. She was a member of the National Honors Society and notably graduated fourth in her class. They first met in 2015 at a fall sports banquet in high school when they were both around 16 years old. They were both students at Salem High School in Salem, New Jersey, and shared a passion for basketball.
Their bond grew stronger, and they later went on their first date at a local basketball match. The game was between their school’s team, Salem Rams, and the Penns Grove Red Devils.

Ayanna Chapman’s husband, Jonathan Taylor, born on January 19, 1999, is a celebrated American football running back who plays for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL). His journey in football began at Salem High School, where he made a name for himself by setting a record for rushing yards in the state of New Jersey.

Taylor then played college football at Wisconsin while Ayanna went to Ball State University. He cemented his place in history as the first player to rush for over 6,000 yards in three years, culminating in him being ranked sixth in all-time rushers in the NCAA.
