Luke 13:6-9:6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Mark 11:12-14:12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Mark 11:20:20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

God has called us to a life of fruitfulness. That is why in the memory verse of today Jesus expressly stated the consequences of the fruitful branch and the unfruitful branch of the Vine. We are the branches. Jesus is the Vine, God the Father is the Husbandman.

For every fruitful branch, it is pruned so that it can produce more fruits, while the fruitless branch is cut off and cast into fire. Why? Simply because it is worth nothing. This is the final destiny of a fruitless believer in Christ.

Jesus was hungry in Mark 11:12-14, he expected to see fruits on the fig tree, but alas, it was all leaves but no fruit. What a disappointment! It has the appearance of fruitfulness but lacks the evidence. In his great wrath and displeasure, He cursed it. The fig tree dried instantly to its root. This may sound too hard. But you see, this is the reaction of the Master against a situation that should be favorable but now appears unfavorable. Same was the disappointment of the owner of the vineyard who saw the tree existing for many years, merely occupying the space, consuming the soil nutrients but produced no fruit.

Beloved brother and sister, are you producing fruits for Christ and His kingdom? We have been saved to share the love of Christ with others. What are you doing about witnessing Christ to others? The soul winner is wise. If truly you have been blessed by being on the Lord’s side, you surely must bring it to bear by producing your kind. Are you bringing forth the fruit of the Spirit? These are those godly virtues that shows forth in your life to affirm that you’re genuinely Christ own.

The Bible went on to tell us that by their fruits we shall know them (Matthew 7:16). Do you bear godly or ungodly fruits? Fruits of righteousness and not unrighteousness; fruuts that will abide in the Lord. That is, enduring and lasting fruits. Fruits that will stand the test of times and temptations, fruits that will bear witness of your commitment to Christ and His kingdom. Fruits that will not only speak of godly leagcy concerning your life here on earth; but will also make way and usher you into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:5-11)

I pray that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ shall not be a waste over your life; and you shall not be a disappointment to heaven in the name of Jesus. Don’t exist for nothing, neither live in pleasure while you’re yet alive. Decide and determine not just to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour, but to make solid impact by making your life to yield spiritual increase.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

I reject a barren and unproductive spiritual life, in the name of Jesus.

Spirit of dryness, my life is not your candidate, die, in the name of Jesus.

My life, bring forth enduring fruits in Christ, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

I shall not be a cast away, by the power of the God, in the name of Jesus.

You the tree of my life bring forth fruits in multiple fold, in the name of Jesus.

Heaven will rejoice at my manifestation, in the name of Jesus.

Spirit of divine multiplication, possess me now, in the name of Jesus.
