Inter Milan have turned down a proposal from Chelsea that would see their number one, Kepa Arrizabalaga, head to the San Siro in exchange for Andre Onana.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Inter Milan immediately turned down the west Londoners’ idea of swapping the 28-year-old Kepa for the 27-year-old Onana, a Cameroon international.
Chelsea want to sign another goalkeeper amid uncertainty over the futures of Kepa and Edouard Mendy.
The goalies are finding life difficult this season but are unwilling to be anything less than the Stamford Bridge outfit’s first-choice shot stopper.
Reports in England say that incoming Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino wants Onana as his first-choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.
Inter Milan turned down the swap deal and could demand around €70 million for the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
Onana has been in fine form this season, keeping 19 clean sheets in 39 games across competitions. He has played a key role in his side’s winning the Coppa Italia and sealing their place in the UEFA Champions League final.
