According to Deadline, singer-actress Jojo Siwa has officially signed on for the leading role in the forthcoming horror thriller titled All My Friends Are Dead. This marks Siwa’s first non-family-friendly project after previously starring in children’s movies like the animated comedy The Angry Birds Movie 2, and the Nickelodeon musical The J Team.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the upcoming movie All My Friends Are Dead,” Siwa said in a statement. “This is a project that is so different from anything I’ve done previously; however, I absolutely love horror movies and I can’t wait to start production! I’m also excited to work with Jade again. We worked together when we were younger and can’t wait to create this movie together.”
All My Friends Are Dead will be directed by Saw 3D writer Marcus Dunstan from a screenplay written by Josh Sims and Jessica Sarah Flaum. In addition to Siwa, Little Fires Everywhere‘s Jade Pettyjohn will also be starring in the movie. Production is expected to begin this spring in Canada, with casting still currently underway.
“The film centers around a group of close college friends who get a steal on a killer Airbnb for the biggest music festival of the year,” reads the synopsis. “A weekend of partying quickly takes a turn for the worst as members of the group are murdered one by one. They soon discover that each one of their deaths directly corresponds to one of the seven deadly sins.”
The project will be produced by John Baldecchi, with Dominic Ianno, Jason Resnick, Kevin Greutert, Clays Epstein, and Dan Rubin serving as executive producers.
