Former Premier League striker, Robbie Keane has hailed Manchester United forward, Jadon Sancho and told manager Erik ten Hag to start the England international in their Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United next weekend.
This is following the player’s performance when he came off the bench to help Manchester United beat Leicester City 3-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The win cemented Manchester United’s third place and kept Premier League leaders Arsenal and second-placed Manchester City on their toes.
Marcus Rashford netted twice to put the home side in control and Jadon Sancho came off the bench to score the third in the game controlled by Leicester City in the first half.
Sancho, who joined from Borussia Dortmund for £73m last summer, now looks rejuvenated after spending three months out of the Manchester United team.
And former Tottenham striker, Keane wants Ten Hag to start the England international in next weekend’s EFL Cup final against Newcastle United.
“I thought he [Sancho] played great,” Keane told Sky Sports.
“I think it was Sancho that changed the game actually. His introduction certainly helped Man United.
“He brought a different dynamic to the game. He looks sharp. He played his way into the team for next week’s final with that performance.”
