The Whites sacked Jesse Marsch 11 days ago following the 1-0 defeat to relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, but have been unsuccessful in their attempts to replace the American.

Carlos Corberan, Andoni Iraola, Arne Slot and Alfred Schreuder have all been linked with taking the hot seat at Elland Road, but none of the quartet have assumed control for varying reasons.

Nuno Espirito Santo, currently manager of Al-Ittihad, and Steven Gerrard – who usually operates with Leeds favourite Gary McAllister at his side – have also been on Leeds’ radar, but 90min understands majority owner Andrea Radrizzani intends to stick with Skubala for now.

It’s understood Radrizzani will assess the situation after Leeds’ crunch clash with Southampton at the end of February, but he would ideally like to avoid appointing a temporary manager just to stave off relegation.

Harry Redknapp has been sensationally linked with taking over in that sort of capacity, but the 75-year-old confirmed to talkSPORT he had ‘no idea’ where the rumours had come from and that he would not be succeeding Marsch.

Leeds have played back-to-back games under the management of Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas, first drawing 2-2 with in-form Manchester United at Old Trafford before losing 2-0 in the reverse fixture four days later.

A huge game at Everton awaits on Saturday, with 17th-place Leeds just a point above the Toffees in the Premier League table after picking up just four wins from 22 games to date.
