Paramount’s adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six novel has officially found its director, with The Hollywood Reporter noting that Chad Stahelski is set to step behind the camera.
The director of the John Wick movies will now helm the latest Clancy-based action film, which will also star Michael B. Jordan in the lead role. This will be the follow-up to the 2021 action thriller Without Remorse, which also starred Jordan as John T. Clark, a character that’s been featured throughout many of Tom Clancy’s novels.
According to the report, Jordan will once again be playing the Navy Seal-turned-CIA operative John T. Clark, who was the lead character in the Without Remorse and Rainbow Six novels. Currently, no plot details are known, but the report does mention that Paramount plans on releasing Rainbow Six theatrically, unlike Without Remorse, which the company moved to Amazon to release as a streaming exclusive in 2021.
For Stahelski, this is yet another big film in a litany of major projects he’ll direct in the future. Following 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4, Stahelski is also set to direct a film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima at some point in the future. The director has also been linked to a remake of Highlander that’s set to star Henry Cavill, and he’ll also act as a producer on the upcoming John Wick spin-off film Ballerina.
For Jordan, this will be his next film following the upcoming Creed III, where he’ll reprise the role of Adonis “Donnie” Creed.
