Popular actress, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, has disclosed that she only became a millionaire six years ago despite being popular for over two decades.
Toyin made this revelation in a recent interview on TVC’s breakfast show “Your View”, where she spoke about her marriage and career.
During the interview, the thespian said she only started making good money from acting five to six years ago even though she had been in the industry for over 20 years.
According to her, there’s a common misconception that every famous person is rich, where as there is a huge difference between fame and wealth.
“I started making money maybe five or six years ago. I became a millionaire about six years ago, all these years that you people knew me, I wasn’t wealthy, fame is different from riches, you people always mix it up,” she said.
The mother of one further stated that she is a traditional woman who respects and submits to her husband, actor Kola Ajeyemi. According to her, she doesn’t hold ‘woke’ views about marriage.
Speaking on the barrage of failed celebrity marriages, Toyin Abraham said the society is not helping matters because they blow things out of proportion.
Using her personal experience as an example, she recalled how she was recently slut-shamed on social media over a video of popular skit maker, Sydney Talker, hugging her.
According to her, the society have contributed in no small way to marriage crashes.
