TOPIC: Not By Title (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 11 October 2022)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 23:9-40, Jeremiah 24, Jeremiah 25:1-14, 1 Thessalonians 4, Proverbs 24:23-34
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:10-21 (KJV)
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

MFM Devotional For Today 2022 MESSAGE:
The story of Brother Ananias should be a humbling one to every thoughtful Christian that seeks intimacy with the Lord. We are all familiar with the conversion story of Saul who became Paul, how he met with Jesus, on his way to Damascus. This divine encounter never left him the same way. Christians all over the world today, are tapping into the lessons through the scriptures. Paul became God’s vessel of reaching to the Gentiles in fulfilling His word in Acts 1:8.
God does not work in isolation. As Saul encountered Jesus and became blind, God had prepared Brother Ananias as the instrument of his healing. Do you ever wonder who this Ananias is? He was not named among the apostles, no big title, no high class status or particular ministerial assignment. In fact, we can call him “disciple without portfolio”. Yet, God knows his name and location, even his spiritual right standing. There should be more reasons why God chose this man for this divine assignment which generations shall continue to read about till the return of our Lord and Master, Jesus.
What can we learn from Ananias? This man was definitely humble, obedient, loving and compassionate. How? Though he demonstrated a little fear at the beginning, he explained his apprehension to Christ, and in total obedience to the Master, he said, “Here am I, Lord”. God gave him the address where Saul was. This equally shows the closeness they both enjoyed. Can God dialogue with you on a matter? Can He trust you on handling matters for Him without faltering?
Ananias got to Saul and called him “Brother”. This is true brotherly love! You can hear and feel that humility, love and compassion. Not the voice of arrogance, self-importance or spiritual pride. It was a warm embrace of “welcome into the Body of Christ”. Brother Ananias as we read in scriptures had no apostolic title or role like Peter and others. Can God count on you for such outstanding spiritual assignment? God does that for those whom He finds worthy, the God-fearing and covenant-keeping disciples. Without Ananias perhaps we may not have had Paul. God is still in need of this kind of Ananias. You can be one extending the hand of fellowship to others in the household of God, and to win more souls into the kingdom.
