Nailed It! is back and perhaps this season is the most important in its run. The show has been a big success (I mean, it’s had 7 seasons so it must be doing something right!) but production on this was also halted midway through due to cast and crew striking in a bid to join IATSE. Instead of meeting with the group, Netflix decided to halt production, so the future of this show is very much unknown, at least at the time of writing anyway.

Thus, season 7 of Nailed It! drops 4 episodes of its Halloween themed cooking show, with themes revolving around different Netflix Originals. This is actually a pretty smart move, indirectly bringing more attention to the different heavy-hitting shows the streaming platform has in a bid to bring new fans onboard.

The episodes here follow the familiar pattern we’ve seen before, with a $10,000 grand prize on offer to a chef that can take a crack at re-creating edible masterpieces. Of course, the fun and hilarity in this show comes from the hapless chefs who struggle to even mix the ingredients together, let alone putting on a show-stopping centerpiece.

We’ve seen a number of different projects over the years, and this time we get chapters centering on Umbrella Academy, The Witcher and Cobra Kai. The final episode, Slime Time, mixes things up though and gives the bakers a different challenge, throwing slime into the mix.

As per usual, the episodes see two different judges join host Nicole Byer as they work (see: eat) their way through whatever the different contestants cook up for them. The format is largely the same and if you’re reading this I’m assuming you guys are already aware of how this show works so I won’t bore you with the specifics again!

Nailed It! Halloween is another fun and frightfully delicious reality series that takes a very simple premise and absolutely runs with it. Although some of the projects this time lack the same level of hilarity seen in seasons past, the themed ideas with Netflix originals are a nice touch and there’s enough enjoyment to be had in these four episodes to make for a decent watch.
