Heartbreak High is the latest teen drama show from Netflix. It perfectly blends important yet heavy topics with comedy and the usual teen drama to make for quite the interesting watch.

What is Heartbreak High about?

A few students in Harley High find themselves forced to take a sex education class after the discovery of the “incest map’’ on the school grounds. The map details the rumored and real sexual escapades of their classmates. It was drawn by Amerie and Harper who are best friends but had a mysterious fall-out.

The students are each going through their own struggles and battling their inner demons but they all have the new sex education class in common. The class is supposed to help them learn how to navigate sex and give them a new understanding of intercourse and relationships.

Has Heartbreak High been renewed for season 2?

The show premiered on September 14th, 2022 so it is still a bit early to tell, however it would seem likely that this one will be renewed.

So far, the show has been well received and managed to be among Netflix’s top 10 most watched TV shows globally. Critics and fans alike have deemed the show as one of the best teen dramas on Netflix and are hoping for season 2 already.

Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. With all that in mind, we should know the fate of this one in the coming months.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Netflix is yet to make an official announcement but given the response to the show, it is most likely to get a second season. Fans are already excitedly discussing the possibility of the storylines that will appear in the second season. 

They are curious about what happens to Ca$h and Darren after that chaotic yet heartfelt love confession from Ca$h moments before he was taken into custody. Will Darren still give him a chance and how will his case go? 

On the other hand, we are curious to know if there are still sparks flying between Malakai and Amerie. Does he deserve a second chance or should Amerie pull the thank you, next card on him?

If season 2 is given the green light we can expect the show to hit our small screens in early or middle 2023. We will stay on the lookout for any updates and let you know immediately after Netflix makes an announcement on the future of the show.
