Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is one of the biggest movies to hit Sky Cinema this month and the Sandra Bullock/Channing Tatum-starring romance movie The Lost City is arriving too. New Korean series Monstrous is another highlight, especially if you’re looking for something scary to watch this Halloween, and so too is A Friend Of The Family, a chilling new crime series starring Anna Paquin that is based on a nightmarish true story.
Check out this month’s highlights below and then keep scrolling to take a look at some of the other titles landing on Sky and Now TV this month.
Please note: This list is correct at the time of writing but more titles will likely be revealed over the coming days.
Alice Krige stars as an ageing film star who retreats to a Scottish spa to recover from surgery. Does she get the rest she deserves? Not really as the land the spa is based on is home to witchcraft-related forces that start to work their way into her life. Horror legend Dario Argento executive produces this atmospheric tale.
Adrien Brody stars as garbage man Clean, a well-liked and respected man in his community. But despite his demure appearance, he has a dark and violent past. When a neighbourhood girl is assaulted, Clean reverts back to his violent ways when he tasks himself with helping her. Unfortunately, this puts him in the crosshairs of a drug kingpin.

Jake Lacey and Anna Paquin star in this true-life crime drama about the Broberg family, whose daughter was kidnapped several times by their charismatic but obsessive neighbour. If you have seen the Netflix documentary Abducted In Plain Sight which is based on the same case, you will already have an understanding of the events that turned this family’s life upside down.
When legendary rock band the Foo Fighters move into a creepy mansion to record their latest album, Dave Grohl, who has been suffering from writer’s block, finds an abandoned reel-to-reel tape recorder that gives him inspiration. This is good news for the band but the bad news is that Grohl becomes possessed by the demonic forces that reside inside the mansion.
Young siblings Aiden (Jaeden Martell) and Mia (Lia McHugh) are struggling with their parent’s divorce. Their life becomes even more stressful when they are forced to spend Christmas with their soon-to-be stepmom (Riley Keough) in a countryside lodge. Do they all get along? As the film is written and directed by the folks who made Goodnight Mommy, another dark tale about broken family relationships, you shouldn’t expect too many family celebrations in this underrated chiller.
Watergate’s biggest secrets are finally ‘revealed’ in this comedy thriller about a White House transcriber who finds a tape consisting of the 18½ minutes that went missing after the Nixon tapes were found. You shouldn’t expect too many revelations as this movie’s story is mostly fictional.

In this Korean horror series, a centuries-old curse is unleashed when a giant Buddha statue is unearthed in a small rural town. This is bad news for local residents as they are transformed into something less than human by the soul-sucking force that has been released. It’s up to Jung Ki-Hoon, an archaeologist specializing in the occult, to find a way to save the town from destruction.
Fans of the Sonic games will love this sequel movie as it contains lots of references to the Sega classics. This time around, Doctor Eggman (Jim Carrey) teams up with Knuckles to take down Sonic but as the blue hedgehog has run rings around his opponents before, you know it won’t be Eggman that eventually gets the upper hand.
This low-budget horror movie tells the story of a woman who has suppressed a malevolent family curse for years. But when a relative awakens the dark forces connected to her bloodline, all hell expectedly breaks loose. The cast, including Melora Walters, Goran Visnjic, Maiara Walsh, and Yancy Butler, is a good one, but if you’re looking for a horror movie to watch this Halloween time, you will find much better efforts than this predictable effort.
Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth star as a married couple who agree to enter a blank white room for 50 days. Why? Well, they will win a $5 million prize if they can endure their stay. But as they have no TV, phones, or any other form of entertainment to keep them occupied, both their marriage and their sanity are in danger of breaking down.
Sandra Oh stars in this inter-generational horror movie as Amanda, a first-generation Korean-American woman who is confronted by her past when her uncle arrives from Korea with her estranged mother’s ashes. Amanda, whose life is scarred by memories of her abusive mother, is then forced to consider the relationship she has with her daughter, which may be affected by the ghost of the dead woman.
In this family-friendly adventure movie, Elliot and his mother discover a dark secret in the town they have recently moved into. This leads them into a race against time to save the town from evil industrialist, Mr Hexenmeister. Luckily, they have a mystical book that aids them on their mission.
In this romantic adventure movie, Sandra Bullock stars as Loretta Sage, a reclusive romance novelist who gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt while on her latest book tour and ends up in the jungle with Alan (Channing Tatum), her book’s cover model. The screwball banter between Bullock and Tatum is fun but if you’re looking for some adventurous derring-do in the jungle, you might be disappointed by the movie’s focus on the romance between the two main characters.
George MacKay stars as Jacob, a young man who believes he’s a wolf trapped inside a human body. His family are understandably alarmed when he starts crawling around on all fours and howling at the moon so they send him to a clinic where they hope he will get the help he needs. While there, he meets other people who think they are animals, including Cecile (Lily-Rose Depp) who thinks she is a wildcat. After forming an animal attraction, the two plot their escape.
Simon Rex stars as Mikey Saber, a washed-up porn star who returns to his small Texas hometown to start life anew. He inveigles his way back into the lives of his ex-wife and mother and tries to find a job. Unfortunately, not everybody is willing to accept him due to his seedy past but his fortunes change when he meets a cheerful redhead working at the local Doughnut shop. Sean Baker (The Florida Project) directs this critically acclaimed film.
