One person has been confirmed dead in a road crash that occurred in Osun on Monday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when an 18 seater bus coming from Owode-Ede towards Osogbo had a head-on collision with a Mack truck in front of the Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere.
As at the time of filing this report, the injured had been taken to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment by the personnel of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who were first responders.
Meanwhile, the FRSC Osun Sector Command has confirmed the accident.
The Osun Sector Commander, Paul Okpe in a telephone chat with DAILY POST while confirming the accident said the cause of the crash has not been ascertained yet but that after due investigation it would be made known.
He also confirmed that one passenger died while the injured passengers had been taken to a medical facility for treatment.
