Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger, has singled out N’golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic as key if the west London club want to be successful this season.
Chelsea, who started the season in fine form and stayed at the top of the Premier League table after 14 matches, have now descended to third place behind Man City and Liverpool.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have taken just five points from their last four games after they lost several key players to injuries and Covid-19.
However, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante are back in the team and were part of their 0-0 Premier League draw with Wolves on Sunday.
“It is not easy for him [Kante], he has been out a number of times,” Rudiger said, according to Metro.
“The same for Kova. They came in and were lively. That is very important for us because it is clear that we need them.”
Chelsea will face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Boxing Day. But before then, Thomas Tuchel’s side travel to west London rivals Brentford in the EFL Cup quarter final on Wednesday.
