Chelsea ace, Thiago Silva, has received a ‘significant financial offer’ to leave Stamford Bridge for a club in the Middle East at the end of the season.
This claim was made by respected football expert, Ian McGarry.
Silva joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020.
His current deal with Chelsea will expire at the end of the current season.
The Brazilian defender played a key role in Chelsea’s run to UEFA Champions League glory last season despite going off injured in the final victory against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
At 37, Silva hasn’t been able to play every match for Thomas Tuchel’s side so far this season.
But the centre-back has featured 15 times in the English Premier League, 12 as a starter, and five times in the Champions League group stage this term.
“It’s our information that we have obtained here at the Transfer Window that Thiago Silva has a significant financial offer to continue his career in the Middle East, which of course in terms of money would be attractive because it would be tax-free and the leagues, of course, are not overly competitive,” McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast.
“But Silva himself is extremely competitive.”
