Two persons have been confirmed dead in an auto crash at the Joju portion of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta highway.

The crash, which occurred at about 12:50am, involved 11 men, four of whom sustained injuries.

Five others escaped the accident unhurt.

The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said a total of seven vehicles were involved in the accident.

Okpe said a Mack truck with registration number AAA552XY, had engaged in excessive speed, which led to brake failure.

The FRSC spokesperson said the injured victims were taken to Ota General Hospital, adding that the bodies of the dead victims were taken to Ifo General Hospital Morgue.

The Ogun FRSC Sector Command has, therefore, advised motorists to check their vehicles every morning before going out.

The command sympathized with the family of the victims, while asking them to contact the FRSC office in Ota for more information about the crash.
