Liverpool legends Emile Heskey and Steven McManaman have slammed Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi for bringing down Mohamed Salah in the eighteen yard box during their Premier League clash on Tuesday.

Ndidi gave away the penalty which was missed by Salah during the 1-0 victory for the Forxes at the King Power Stadium.

Ndidi was adjudged to have tipped Salah on the edge of the box and referee Michael Oliver pointed to the penalty spot in the fifteenth minute.

Salah’s effort was saved by the goalkeeper and the Egyptian headed the rebound onto the bar.

Heskey and McManaman noted that referee Michael Oliver did not make a mistake in awarding the spot kick to Liverpool.

“You’ve got Boubakary Soumare behind, you’ve got Amartey in front of Mohamed Salah, you don’t go diving and then making it easy for him like that,” McManaman told Premier League Productions.

“It was a penalty, I don’t think anybody could argue with that.”

“You can’t argue with that one. You’ve got to stand your ground and make him make a move and he didn’t do that, he just stuck his leg out”, Heskey added.
