An All Progressives Congress leader and two-time Senatorial Candidate in Abia South Senatorial district during 2019 general election, Chris Nkwota, has resigned his membership of the party in Abia State.
Nkwota, before his entry into the governing APC in Nigeria, contested for the Senate seat to represent Abia South Senatorial zone on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2015 and 2019 National Assembly elections and was defeated by the incumbent, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who was the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The frontline politician hailed from Akwaette in Ukwa East local government area in Abia south Senatorial district of the state.
However, while announcing his resignation from the APC in a letter dated December 28, 2021 and forwarded to DAILY POST on Wednesday, Nkwota revealed that he arrived at the decision to quit the APC after due consultations with teeming followers.
The party chieftain also did not adduce the rationale behind his sudden resignation from the APC, and as well as his next political move.
Nkwota wrote in the resignation letter addressed to the ward chairman of the APC in Ukwa east LGA, “this is to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC with effect from Tuesday, 28th of December, 2021.
“This decision was taken after due consultations with my followers and I would like.to wish you well”.
