Manchester City star, Joao Cancelo, has been included in his side’s squad to face Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Emirates Stadium.
According to Manchester Evening News, Cancelo has traveled with Manchester City’s squad to play Arsenal on New Year’s Day.
The Portugal defender was attacked in his home on Thursday by four burglars who assaulted him and carted away with his jewelry as he tried to protect himself and his family.
Man City sent staff to check on Cancelo and issued a statement condemning the ‘shocking and appalling incident.
A decision over whether to include Cancelo in the Man City squad for the Arsenal clash at the weekend was left to the player.
The 27-year-old felt able to make himself available for the match and City staff was happy enough with the checks they made to allow that.
Meanwhile, Cancelo is also helping the police with their inquiries as they investigate the attack at his home.
Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, also welcomed Kyle Walker back to training on Thursday.
The kick-off time for Arsenal vs Man City is 1.30 pm.
