Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of Information Systems Manager who will be responsible for leading data gathering, collation and quality control activities to ensure the quality and accountability of the programs implemented by ACF in Northern Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • National focal person for management of Nutrition Information System (NIS) as well as supporting the remote management strategy of AAH Nigeria;
  • Manage AAH database to effectively control and archive program data;
  • Manage response and prioritization of requests for map products and services;
  • Liaise closely with MEAL HoD and DHoDs to understand and support the welfare of MEAL staff at all regions to ensure good working conditions and performance enhancement;
  • Ensure proper training for MIS platforms users (RedRose, Kobo, Power BI, etc.) for AAH staff;
  • Support MIS officers in the bases for external stakeholders trainings (content development);
  • Evaluation of technical skills of MIS officers and assistants also supporting mentorship strategy of MEAL department.
  • Management of budgets related to IS in the projects and plan the activities and procurement requests;
  • Prepare, coach and execute the SOPs for data protection adhering to the policies of NPDR and GDPR;
  • Create, organize and archive maps using GIS software and maintenance of reference datasets for Action Against Hunger areas of operations;
  • Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including field observation, satellite imagery, and existing maps;

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Geography (GIS) or a related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Management Information System related work experience.
  • Experience in database management and mapping.
  • Strong experience with cartography, infographics and other GIS platforms;
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Previous experience with Action Against Hunger or International NGO.
  • Experience and conversant with M&E systems, preferably in INGO.
  • Strong interpersonal and community norms understanding.
  • Experience with participatory fieldwork methodologies.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken skills).
  • Experience with mobile data collection methodologies, software and devices;
  • Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure;
  • Commitment to and understanding of Action Against Hunger aims, values and principles.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with MIS platforms.

Starting Basic Salary / Benefits

  • NGN718,840 per month (excluding other benefits)
