READ: Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 26:1-32, Psalms 47-49

MESSAGE:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10)

Someone once said “When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse in inevitable.” This is the case with many teenagers who misuse their lives by drinking, smoking, partying and doing all sorts of things because they don’t even know God’s purpose for them. God created you for a good reason as stated in the passage above. Most importantly, He created you to bring glory to Him, so don’t waste your life getting involved in vices.

You can live a purposeful life by identifying what makes you happy and using it to impact other people significantly. For instance, as a caregiver, I love to cater to peoples needs and make them comfortable everywhere I am; this is why I don’t joke with peoples welfare in terms of attending to their basic needs. Dear child, God has called you to a life of purpose, which is to do good works and He has gifted you with all you need to accomplish that purpose. Find it and work on it.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to fulfil my purpose on earth.

HYMN: When Upon Life’s Billows You Are Tempest-Tossed

  1. When upon life’s billows
    you are tempest tossed,
    When you are discouraged,
    thinking all is lost,
    Count your many blessings,
    name them one by one,
    And it will surprise you
    what the Lord hath done.

Chorus
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your many blessings,
see what God hath done.

  1. Are you ever burdened
    with a load of care?
    Does the cross seem heavy
    you are called to bear?
    Count your many blessings,
    ev’ry doubt will fly,
    And you will be singing
    as the days go by.
  2. When you look at others
    with their lands and gold,
    Think that Christ has promised
    you His wealth untold;
    Count your many blessings,
    money cannot buy
    Your reward in heaven,
    nor your home on high.
  3. So, amid the conflict,
    whether great or small,
    Do not be discouraged,
    God is over all;
    Count your many blessings,
    angels will attend,
    Help and comfort give you
    to your journey’s end.
