BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 13:1-52, Job 31-32

MESSAGE:

Discrimination in the Body of Christ is becoming rampant; its fast gaining roots in the lives of many teenagers who think they are better in achievements or possession of material things than others. They give attitude to anyone they consider not as educated or wealthy as they are. This act is highly condemnable by our Lord Jesus who showed us through His relationships during His earthly ministry that loving people genuinely is the whole essence of life.

Our Bible reading tells of elderly Peter and young John who went side by side to Church and God performed a miracle through them. Peter was elderly and full of action while John was well-to-do and cool-headed. In fact, Jesus told John and Mary His mother to adopt each other as mother and son (John 19:26-27 ). Peter and John bonded based on their love for Jesus, irrespective of their differences.

Don’t discriminate against anyone based on their social or financial class. If the Apostles had done this, the gospel wouldn’t have spread to Africa. Be humble and relate with people in love, just as Jesus did.

KEY POINT:

We are all the same before God; no one is better than another.

HYMN: LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU

  1. While passing through this
    world of sin,
    And others your life shall view,
    Be clean and pure without, within,
    Let others see Jesus in you.

CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

  1. Your life’s a book before their eyes,
    They’re reading it through and through;
    Say, does it point them to the skies,
    Do others see Jesus in you?
  2. What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
    In mansions beyond the blue,
    To find some souls that you have won;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
  3. Then live for Christ both day and night,
    Be faithful, be brave, and true,
    And lead the lost to life and light;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
