Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has questioned forward Sadio Mane’s decision to leave the Reds for Bayern Munich.
Mane officially joined Bayern Munich from Liverpool on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga champions.
Reacting, Owen, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, wrote: “I’m still struggling to understand why Sadio Mane would leave Liverpool for Bayern Munich, but he’s been an outstanding player, given great service and will go down as a club legend.”
Mane joined Liverpool from Southampton back in 2016.
Mane’s contract with Liverpool was set to expire in the summer of 2023.
Hence, instead of letting him go for free, it worked out well for Liverpool that they cashed in on him this summer.
The Senegalese international scored 120 goals and registered 48 assists in 269 matches across all competitions.
