Arsenal forward, Eddie Nketiah has sounded a clear warning to incoming striker, Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus is expected to arrive at the Emirates any moment from now as Mikel Arteta continues bolstering his team ahead of next season.
Arteta is looking to take Arsenal to the Champions League next season after failing to do so last season.
Nketiah said he will ‘relish the challenge’ of extra competition and is ready to fight to keep his starting role.
Arsenal are paying Manchester City over £50 million for the Brazilian’s signature, with the player keen on moving to the Emirates.
Nketiah has warned that the Brazilian may not walk straight into the first team.
Asked about the prospect of Arsenal bringing in a new striker, Nketiah told the Telegraph: “Every team needs a squad to compete. The club is always looking for ways to strengthen.
“They have extended my deal and they have done that for a reason.
“Whoever comes in, you relish the challenge. You make them feel welcome, and then you fight and compete.”
